Whether you're just starting or looking to organize years of training.
Genuine innovation from the source
Paradigm-shifting systems enter jiu-jitsu about once per decade, like the berimbolo. Lapel guard comes from the mind of the man behind this course.
Digestible and engaging
The course is long, but it's split into 166 separate lessons, so you can work through it in short, productive sessions.
Flowcharts included
13 PDF flowcharts organize the more complex positions, so you can actually use what you learn.
Competition tested
Keenan proved these guards against the elite, competition after competition, with a black belt record of 185W-35L and a 62% submission rate.

Inside the encyclopedia.
16 chapters in 6 parts · 166 lessons · 13 flowcharts
IThe foundations
Chapters 1 to 3 cover the foundations: controls, entries and backup plans. They connect your existing guard knowledge to the lapel guard black magic, and you'll learn a lot about guard concepts in general.
IIWorm guard
Worm guard is the most famous of the lapel guards (chapter 4). Ringworm differs by a single grip (chapter 5). Chapter 6, reverse de la worm, may be the most powerful in the course: a backtake and armbar dilemma that's nearly impossible to defend.
IIISquid, gubber guard and lapel lasso
Squid guard is as simple as it is powerful. Gubber guard is gi rubber guard and makes closed guard a nightmare with a single grip. Lapel lasso is both a great precursor and an answer to kneeling passers.
IVSingle leg X lapel guard and exotics
SLX reinforced by the lapel, the borderline-illegal-feeling belt guard, and demi guard, the last unique mini-system Keenan developed before retiring from competition.
VWrestling and graceful exits
When the best in the world figured out some of the sweeps, their reactions opened new paths: powerful wrestle-ups, graceful exits and transitions to other positions.
VISubmissions
A separate chapter with only the highest-percentage, fight-ending sequences.
The man who created the lapel guard. Keenan beat Felipe Pena, Leandro Lo, Craig Jones, Adam Wardzinski, Nicholas Meregali, Yuri Simoes and Kaynan Duarte, then spent the next decade teaching what made that possible.

"A whole new theory"
"Keenan is a jiu jitsu genius. This is more than a 'system', it is a whole new theory. It is so varied, extensive and imaginative. I'd rather you don't get it, though, so that I am the only one who knows about it."

"One of them complained to the coach"
"Very detailed and understandable. There is something to learn from this no matter where you are in your journey. I've been impressed by just how annoyed my better training partners are. One of them complained to the coach, lol."

"The most hated guy at my gym"
"With this course I've been able to slow down my opponents and give me time to sweep and get on top on my own terms. I've also become the most hated guy in the gym and managed to win comps with confidence."
